Hey there pretty sure i'll be in the same position soon work in a very demanding industry and havn't been able to concentrate lately due to break up drama almost handed in my notice today my boss instead of understanding has just ridden me nonstop i feel empty. Almost don't care but can't give in as i have kids to support.

I'm in nursing school and had to quit because they wouldn't take me per dium (picking up open shifts as needed.)

One of the other employees that worked with me didn't pull anything close to her share. She lasted ONE night after I left...ONE, just ONE. I KNEW dayshift didn't complain, because I did so much extra work. And I knew that once they started to work short-shifted and I wasn't around....that dayshift would lose it.

Ha!

I hate, hate, hate people like the one you worked with....hate.

Thank you for your support. I don't have someone special to tell this to and hug me and hold me and tell it's going to be all right. My Dad lost his job last month so I don't even want to burden my parents and the rest of my family. I haven't told but one friend because I want others to see me staying positive in case they hear of a job. I just feel so alone and that is what I am afraid will start getting me depressed.

there are thousands of people in your same shoes so you are definitely not alone. use this time to stand back and ask yourself what it is that you would love to contribute to the world over the long run? losing a job can be a blessing if we keep our poise and do those things that winners do.

in 2006 when my employer shut down and laid off 2000 of us, most of them went to a competitor who paid poor wages and made them work nights. a few of us went the other way, following our hearts. it really is the only way to fly.

I'm sorry you're without a job now, but I am glad you're keeping such a positive attitude. I've worked in miserable job environments before too so I can relate to your comments about working for a bad boss. Good luck finding a much better job, in a workplace with really good people. :-)

I have an interview in the morning and a second call interview afterwards... wish me luck! Just getting this far feels so good already.

I have been unemployed for almost a full year and it is terrible. Although I have somewhere to live and food, which I am so thankful for I have no outlets anymore without a job and an income. I am an outgoing, social person and one of the things I loved most about my job/working was the social interaction and well as the feeling of purpose. I have always worked and actually enjoy working so this year has been one of the worst of my life. I apply for 5-10 jobs a day and rarely ever hear back from anyone, it is so depressing. I need my life back and that means being productive and employed! I am totally here if you need anything!

I got the job I really wanted!!! I just hope it turns out to be as good as I've seen so far.
