I'm in the same boat. Since he left me almost a month ago, I have had some of the worst panic attacks of my life, and my pre-existing depression has worsened. I have severe mood swings--one minute I'm sad, the next minute I'm consumed by anger, and sometimes, I can be just fine.
My sister is a social worker, and she gave me a real tough awakening yesterday. She told me she was angry, really angry about how badly he treated me, and that she hated him for what he's done to me. Her advice was to sit and think about all of the bad things he did. Online cheating/sexting. Explosive anger, demeaning comments, name-calling. Don't think of the few moments when things were fine, because he left you broken-hearted. You deserve someone who truly loves you and wants to give you the world. Someone who will not leave you in your darkest moments, but rather, stand behind you and lift you up.
Don't look back on the relationship with "rose-tinted" glasses. Look back and reflect on the reasons it didn't work. Go no contact if you haven't already, block all social media, block his phone number, and look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful, and you deserve better.
Reach out to family and friends for support. I've been going to my therapist more often, which at times can be emotionally draining, and feel like pouring salt in an open wound, but it truly helps in the end.
Stay strong. Keep your head up. You will make it through to the other side. You're worth it. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other even when it seems impossibly hard. I believe in you!
Stay encouraged!
1. Let your self to grief.. you can not control your emotions. No one can. The more efforts will you make trying to stop fantasizing and dreaming about your ex, the longer will it take to recover. Let it be your current emotional state. It does not matter what you did and how you acted in the past. It is over! You can not go back and fix it. We all make mistakes...eah..I made a lot, and I consider myself smart and wise.
2. Anyone who ever went through break ups ...RECOVERED!You will too!It is not going to be tomorrow or next week, it might take even months. But you will get better if you develop some recovery plan. Do not push yourself...take one step at a time.
3. Read!Read!Read! There are hundreds of articles on the topic. Most of it won't apply to you specifically. Some will. You will see how many people go through the same situations.
4. Life is empty and boring without love and romance! However, romantic relationships always have risk to end one day...leaving one with a broken heart. Nothing lasts forever. You loved, you've been happy...your life was fulfilled and meaningful. Isn't that amazing?
5. Try to keep moving even when you think you can not!One thing at a time..today read, tomorrow meet with friend, next week join a gym..Physical activity is a mast. And, I know how irritating is that to make yourself on a triad mill and observe happy faces when you are about to burst in tears. I've been there..but at the end, you will feel better.
6. Start noticing small things around you that gives you little pleasure.
7. Can you cry for several days in a row?..this is my best friend recipe. When she broke up, she would cry and cry..and recover vary fast.
8. Envision your life like you will never be in love again. What would you do? Will you try to enhance your carrier? Or may be you'd like helping people? Or, may be improving your look and health will become your mission? Do you want to make more money? Do you want to travel?
9. Love your family and friends! Yes, I know it is different. But, at the end..it is more important and valuable than a love of the man that left you. I am sure it does not feel like that at the moment.
I wish you to get better!
Forgive yourself! We all are humans, we make mistakes, we are not born wise and perfect.
Then, forgive him!He left you because he does not feel love and attachment anymore...no matter why and because of what. Man not always intentionally hurt you. On the opposite, many men wish the women they left to recover fast and to not to suffer. However, just because your heart is broken does not mean he has to stay, it does not mean he is a bad person. Realizing that in the situation of break ups there is no guilty party is essential.
Then..common, girls! There are a lot of good and beautiful women around..men are always in a better position when it gets to finding a mate. Yes, there is always somebody that prettier, smarter, wealthier, younger and ect.. And, if he chose another women..he was just not your man, not your perfect match.
