I think people are starting to see what's up. His mom has called me a few times to let me know his financial problems, and I told her it's not my problem. He left me with $1,000's of credit card debt, which I finally paid off. I never really noticed his $70 lunches and $200 dinners, he said they were work related, but he didn't let me see his check stubs, they weren't work related. Now if I get a credit card bill over $200, it's rare. He doesn't pay me support, and the only child support he pays is 1/2 our sons tuition and cell phone, and even then he deducts for clothing. I don't argue, and I don't care, I try not to make waves, even though everyone thinks he should be paying more.
I try to stay out of his life, but it's hard living so close. No matter what time I walk the dogs, I always seem to run into him walking his dog.
The man I talked to last night assured me I won't end up alone., and my boyfriend reassures me constantly.
Those people are real assholes.
If I were you, I would move. Your home environment needs to change and fast. Think about it. Your home is supposed to have the greatest vibe that you can create. Your neighborhood is supposed to feel wonderful.
And, to live next door like that? OMG
My ex doesn't live next door, I fought for that. The two women who live there are great. One is someone I grew up with, the other was one of the teachers from our grade school.
I try to avoid taking the dogs out when he's there, but he was there over 3 hours, and they needed to get out.
I love my house, don't really see moving, which my boyfriend hates. He owns a house on 5 acres, of which they are changing his zoning to commercial, and when that goes through, he want's to buy a farm. I'm not a farm girl.
maybe if you two get lots of input and ideas, you can think of a place and an environment where you both would be very happy.
i'd hate to see a good love go down the drain because both of you are too stuck in where you want to live.
good luck to you both. :)
Juch...if your ex is stalking you and tresspassing...can you get a restraining order put on him? Can you put up a privacy fence between the properties?
My parents owned rental properties, it's how they made their Canadian Dream come true. They weren't assholes either. There's nothing about investing in real estate that "makes" anyone an asshole.
My ex has pissed off his share of tenants, not fixing things in a timely manner, withholding security dep. money for minor things, bugs and mice in the house, and upkeep outside is a mess.
His tenants are quiet, but one constantly was calling about something, so I'm sure she's still contacting him all the time. They were little things, so he would blow them off.
