Steve, I've been so fucked up, I cried over a DOG COMMERCIAL! I'm not kidding. It was for MSPCA, or something. It showed a dog looking out from a chain linked fence, with his nose between the fence. Then a man's voice says:
"I don't know why I'm here. All I know is that I'm a good dog" ....

I'd cry. oh, he's a GOOD dog ....

I don't think you're a mess. Getting emotional after being smacked in the heart is normal for some of us. Not letting it out could be worse for you (and me).

I cried when we saw Bridge over teribithia which is supposed to be a children's movie.

I cried the other night watching The Holiday. I thought, "It will be forever before I am kissed like that!" Then I realized it has been forever since I have been kissed like that. LOL

I quit watching some movies because I'd cry though the movie,so I totally relateto the sad feeling and feeling so unlove at the time. cinn-understand it was the first commercial that I seen after stbx left and cried all night felt just like the dog.

Oh my - my wife left me around the same time the movie Happy Feet came out. I took my kids looking for a light hearted escape - and almost broke down during the movie!

I am laughing now - but man - that was a down day!

River, I can't believe it! I went to see happy feet, by myself, after the breakup. I didn't see anything happy about it. The penguins sucked, the dancing sucked. It sucked.

Movies, commercials, hearing songs. Last night watching Grey's Anatomy I was so afraid George would kiss Izzy in the linen closet and I would never be able to watch again. OMG it's a TV show! I just can't take the "cheating is ok" message at this time.

The dog commercial would probably set me off. Then there was that Casper the Friendly Ghost cartoon...he tries and tries to make friends, then finally gives up, sits down and just sobs; I sob right along with him. A CARTOON! I also cried watching Snow White once. Just the fairy tale fantasy that love could be so simple.

What else? Pride and Prejudice with Gwyneth Paltrow, the scene where he asks her to marry him. Sad and jealous, horribly jealous...and that was a year ago.

Watching Mr. Holland's Opus, or Parenthood or some other sentimental movie would probably do me in. Hell, I can't watch ANYTHING.

Imagine what real life does to me. Just got done talking to a friend, all he can talk about his his new girlfriend and their effing "soul connection." I think I managed to seem happy for him...for about one minute...then, TOTAL CRYING MESS.

I almost forgot - to anyone going through sad feelings when their kids are not home - DO NOT, I repeat... DO NOT go see "The Children of Men".

i drive with my hand on the radio dial. I cannot take love songs. I cannot watch people kissing really kissing on TV and if any woman with long brown hair is seducing a man on TV i just turn it off. I am glad to know i am not the only one with such feelings.

My kids like to watch 7th Heaven. The people on that show are so loving and caring, and always have lots of friends and relatives to talk to and work out all their problems. There was a story line where the dad had heart problems and everyone was so caring and sensitive to his ordeal. I cried because I had to go through that same type of ordeal with no marital support, and would have been in 7th Heaven had I received even a fraction of what they showed on TV.
