I am a mathematically gifted teenager, living in the US. I have parents who are in the middle of a divorce, and I am planning to spend most of my time with my father. To save everyone's time, I will cut down to the important information needed to understand my situation.

1. My mother is emotionally abusive, and is a narcissist.

2. My cousin, the son of my mother's sister, is 16 and physically abusive.

3. My mother is trying to get me to spend time with the cousin.

4. The cousin sent me a note, trying to lure me into his room alone. I didn't comply, obviously.

5. My aunt, the mother of the cousin, is manipulative and sociopathic.

6. I have to spend most weekends with my mother, her sister, and my cousin.

7. Until the divorce paperwork goes through, I can do nothing to save myself from my mother and cousin. So, I am basically screwed for another month or so. If I did tell someone, my mother could get vengeful and require more of my time.

8. To save myself from all of my family issues, I sunk myself into math, and I am currently working 5 years ahead.

Please, when you get divorced, realize the pain it will cause your children. My mother asked my father for a divorce for very selfish reasons, and now she is unable to see the pain she has caused. Before the divorce, I was actively trying to get a math paper publised as a middle school student, and now I am forced to be constantly prepared to fight or get out of the house, over most weekends. This puts a strain on me, which I have no choice put to take until the divorce gets completely finalized.

I am unsure whether or not I should tell a teacher. The only teacher I would trust is a math teacher who is motherly, and knows something is up. I have evidence of my cousin trying to put me in danger by trying to convince me to steal a car and run away, and I have evidence that my mother knows she's hurting me, but she continues to do so. Everyday when I go to school, it feels draining because it's like I have to guard a secret from the teachers. If I were to tell them, my mother could possibly make me spend more time with her, which is really dangerous. All I have to do is wait a month for the paperwork to go through, and the divorce to be finalized so she can't mess with paperwork, but it still hurts. I have put up with this type of thing for about 10 years, so I am pretty confident I can do another month, even though it stings. I have fought before, I am fighting now, and I will fight again, but I am growing sick of fighting.
