ok - stomach is a mess. Have lost 10lbs in 2.5 weeks. Forcing myself to eat makes me feel like I'm going to throw up. Tried to go to yoga today but when I stand up my legs are shaking. I know I need to eat more but I don't know what I can eat that will give me nutrition in a small amount of food, without making me throw up. Is there any such magical food out there?!?

Not a dumb question. I lost 10 lbs as well in 2 weeks. I eat whatever I normally eat but stop at some point because I get queasy. Keep on eating what you normally do and take vitamins!! Drink lots of water. All the crying made me so dehydrated!!

Get some ginger tea. It will be very soothing and help your tummy. It will be tempting to eat junk food just because it's quick, easy and will give you a sugar buzz right away. Don't though. Eat fruits, veggies and protein like eggs, cheese, seafood. I agree that you should make sure you are taking a good multi-vitamin too and maybe even a B supplement.

Crackers, nuts. They're both stomach friendly and friendly if they um...come up again.

Drinking Ensure worked for me....lived on it for several weeks. While pricey, there are generic brands.

I agree with those who mentioned nuts, they are a good source of protein and good fat. Although Ensure can be good for emergencies it can be hard on the liver so I wouldn't rely on that. Another option from ginger tea is peppermnt tea, also nice for an upset stomach. Just concentrate on eating small amounts of food often, instead of trying to eat a lot on one sitting. Salmon is great and you don't need to eat a lot. I'd avoid processed food, all the bad fat and chemicals can be hard on the stomach, And stay hydrated.

I have lost 50lbs in 8 weeks, I just did not want to eat. I forced down a few bites of whatever was on the table and take a multi vitamin daily, drink lots of water. I have also been walking for about 1.5 hrs daily to help with the panic and anxiety, I constantly feel like a caged animals. I can now eat a little better. Sargento cheese makes a dried fruit and nut with cheese package that I have been eating mid day at the office, I just can't eat a whole lunch. Good luck, it is a really difficult thing to go through.

Been there. I would force myself to eat very bland foods. Turkey sandwich, boost (yep...sometimes that was it), for some reason icecream seemed palatable to me when nothing else was, peanut butter crackers, chicken soup. I would sometimes have to force every bite at my most anxious times. It will pass and you'll get back to your usual routine. Don't push yourself too much. Surprisingly even being sedentary you can burn more calories than you eat. I feel your pain. I spent an entire month eating then puking (not bulemic, I literally felt sick after I ate).

Thank you everyone - these suggestions are super helpful. It sounds like this is going to last for awhile so I'm glad I asked. I'll probably end up buying some ensure-like shakes and nuts to get me by. Meanwhile, I managed to choke down a slice of plain raisin bread this morning and will try to eat a few bites of something else in a few hours. Maybe if I just do a bite or two every few hours I can make it through work til I get to the grocery store for the shakes. I brought soup for lunch today so the plan is to at least try and eat some of the broth. *sigh*

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. I understand more than I'd like to. I too lost 12 pounds in a short time. I lost my appetite completely. I did some research and found that B12 complex vitamins help with the physical coping of this turmoil. Right now, our brain is working with an imbalance because the stress of the ordeal has depleted whats necessary to maintain that balance. After a while of taking the vitamins consistently, I was able to start to eat little by little. Although I still have days that I may have nothing but a coffee, my appetite has slowly improved. It will take time, but it's worth a try. Praying for better days. - Hugs
