It's been a couple years since my ex and I broke up. We had a baby together and once we broke up his family act like my son doesn't exsist. They haven't texted me or called me to see how he's doing. They have texted my mom to se if they could see my son but they haven't texted me. I don't understand how people can drop part of their family just like that and act like they don't care.

I'm not sure but I will say break ups and divorce reach further than the two individuals relationship. If anything all were part of the bond but pride, loyalty and other factors find a way into the split and reach further into the sadness all feel. The silence is real and speaks in whispers to us so if there is a way to break the silence and reach an answer do so. I know from experience how far reaching the effects of this event really are. Prayers and peace.

There's no way I could talk to them again. They have burned all bridges with me and my
Ex probably talked shit about me to his family. His niece has told me her auntie talks badly about me. That might be just kids talk but still.

Exactly! I'm not willing to let my sons other side see him when they haven't even tried. Even my exs brothers wife says she's so sad that her kids can't see my son. And I'm thinking then you shouldn't have treated me the way you did. She won't even let her grandkids grandpa see her kids. So it's not a big loss.

Hang in there. Breakups are challenging especially when children are involved. However, we cannot control the behaviors of others, only are own. Your son will need both sides of the family. Is there any way your mom can be the mediator so your son can see the other side of the family?

I don't trust them around my son. They've done a lot that makes me feel this way. It's different because we broke up in 2015 and he moved out of my parents place( we lived with my parents before and after I had our son) haven't talked to him since April 2016 and I haven't talked to any of his family and they haven't talked to me since between October December 2015. They haven't texted or called to see how we're doing.
