I have been depressed since the age of 13, I spent the years from 13-25 undiagnosed. I found out when I was 25 that not only did I have Major Depressive Disorder but I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as well. (The PTSD is from childhood phys/mental/sexual abuse and then domestic violence, I was kicked out at 16 and moved in with an older boyfriend who then abused me as well.) I met my husband the year I finally escaped from my abusive ex, we were friends first and he know a lot of my issues and that I was depressed. We dated for two years and got engaged, I found out he cheated on me more times than I could count in those two years. We were living together, I broke off the engagement and left. I was forced to move back in with my parents (They're referred to as my abusers) for 4 months and I ended up calling him and begging him back because I felt that he must have loved me because he never hit me or cursed at me.
After a few months I moved back in with him and August 11,2012 we got married. He put me through hell during the wedding planning, I broke down the night before the wedding and almost had to be hospitalized because he had to have everything his way and family and friends of his made sure it was. June of 2013 I had a major episode with flashbacks and hair pulling that lead to me being hospitalized for 2 weeks and eventually received my MDD and PTSD diagnosis. He promised me that he would be there for me through it all. I was having to go to therapy 2 times a week and could no longer work due to stress, anxiety and triggers. He started getting frustrated that I wasn't getting better so I started to try and pretend to be better, but it wasn't working.
In December 2013 he contacted an ex girlfriend and began to talk to her about our marriage and what I said in therapy. She was trying to get him to leave me. I found out because I logged into Facebook on his computer and saw their messages. He denied it until I brought it up in therapy, then apologized abs swore it would never happen again.
In 2014 we started to have arguments a lot, his mother (who lived with us) would instigate them and get in the middle and tell me things that pointed to me bring a faker. We were struggling financially and I reduced my therapy sessions to once a month so we could afford it (against the wishes of my psych Dr and therapist). Then my medication stopped working and eventually I was at square one with a major setback in my treatment. By October my husband was showing signs of cheating again and was texting a17 yr old and married 21 yr old from our church (in which he was a youth pastor). I caught him talking on the phone to the 21 yr old and the 17 yr old would text him late at night (like 11-3 am). I asked him to stop talking to the teen so late and he threw a fit. I asked him to stop chatting it up with the married woman and he said that he and the girls were just friends and I needed to stop being crazy. I caught a text from the 21 yr old that said she missed him and needed him.
Eventually in February, after he left me alone for 2 days doing "church things", I confronted him. He told me I was crazy and I then tried to commit suicide.
I was hospitalized, he only visited me for 20 minutes and when I got out 2 days later he made me leave. The only place I had to go was my parents, where I was advised to never live by my psych team.
He promised we would fix things and I begged to come home every day. I cried for two weeks solid and would call him and text him asking to come home. He sent me the wrong text one night after a day where he'd promise I was coming home soon that stated I was disgusting and grossed him out. I was hurt and responded with a threat to come to the church and talk. He wouldn't let me, but a board member said I was allowed and she was going to bring me to do so. He left quickly.
The church wanted us to stay together so they set up a meeting and he acted like he was sorry and admitted to kissing the 21 yr old married woman. (He's 32) And swore to me he wanted me. I said no more and left. Hours later the woman admitted to our pastor that they had been having sex for 8 months and that he told her they were going to get divorces and marry each other. I was crushed, I knew it was all true but he kept denying and wouldn't allow me home. He'd been screwing her on our bed and in our car. He would take her on his paper route at work and do things while I was at home in bed.
I told him it was finally over in April when I met my boyfriend and have only talked to him 3 times since. He's promised to pay my cell bill until December (when the contract, which is in my name and has his mother on it, is up) and has fallen through on that and I didn't get all my things. They gave my brand new sewing machine to a lady at church.
I want to divorce him but he left me broke, I have nothing. My boyfriend is supporting me as much as he can but he makes minimum wage and I cannot work. I don't know how to go about doing anything now. I barely have the money to get my medicine I need to keep myself sane and see my psych team. Plus I lost most of my friends and they are spying on me for him and trying to spy on him for me. I can't trust anyone but the guy I'm dating and his family. I'm in a mess.
I need advice on the divorce and resources if anyone knows any in Alabama or any laws that are national.
