Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Divorce is hard and you have to do the work to get past this. Some days will be good and some days you struggle to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Eventually your days get easier and you start making a life that is right for you. You can either bury your head in the sand or start working towards the life you want. Be sure to find a Divorce Care group at one of your local churches. Divorce Care was a life saver for me. A good therapist helps too.
As the others have said, it's a roller coaster. I won't say everyone, but many people make it through the process happier than ever. (I will never say that the whole thing was "worth" it, but...I am in a good place now.)
Divorce Care can be great. It's got a Biblical approach, but in my area it was totally welcoming of atheists, and made me feel completely welcome. If one group doesn't suit you, I'd try another before giving up on it.
How to get through it? One step at a time. In the beginning, it seemed like one hour at a time. But time will pass, you you WILL make it through it.
Healing hugs, Patti
