My husband and I have been separated for five months. I found out back in February that he had been talking on the phone to a lady friend for months before telling me he wanted to separate. Well last weekend he got caught with his new girl friend. Why does it bother me so much? He has already told me that I wasn't good enough for him and that everybody who loves me doesn't really know me .... Why do I let this man upset me so much?

I have tried to stop all contact with him except talking about the kids but he can't leave me alone. He loves getting me upset. What can I do to make him stop?

my stbx claimed how we would always be friends and get along...he would always want to take care of me...well he has been so angry that he can't hardly talk or look at me. He too has a "great" friend that gets him, but I did know about her and all the texting, some of the gift giving and meeting up.
Wish I knew, I try to NC as much as possible. Still have lots to get worked out. and he has started having our son over to stay and left him with her and her kids. Totally crushing to me and feels like he is getting kids involved and manipulating them or allowing her too. We aren't even divorced yet and have moved fairly quickly on paperwork since he drove out of the yard. I dont want to hold him back or keep him from being happy, I don't want kids manipulated without knowing the truth. Hang in there and be strong. I'm assured there will be more good days coming.

Why do you care what he thinks of you? You want him to love you. ...that's why....so stop wanting him to love you? I know, almost its almost impossible when you feel loving feelings with someone but what would it take for you to stop wanting his approval?

Gentle hugs. It is not easy to turn off you feelings. The heart wants what the heart wants. It sounds like your ex is trying to torture you, and at some point you are going to have to just ignore him, but that takes a lot of time. Keep working on it and stay NC for everything but stuff involving the children. You can get through this. It is a slow long road with a lot of ups and downs, but you can do it. Keep posting here.
