Day 3 of separation

Currently on day 3 of our separation. We told the kids last Friday and she started living at her apartment on Monday. This has been a long time coming (since last May). It is a bittersweet process. The best thing has not having to hear her phone bleep when she gets a text. I don't have to worry anymore if that is the other man texting her. The worst thing is obviously the emptiness. That emptiness has been there a long time now but it is magnified somewhat now that she is physically not there. Tonight is the first night my kids sleep at her place. I'm looking forward to some me time, but on the other hand would rather be hanging out with my kids. This weekend will be the first time they are at her place for our alternating weekends. It's weird and going to be weird. Having her "out of sight, out of mind" is helping to get over her. Letting go is so hard but I'm feeling like it is possible. Taking it one day at a time.

Yes that's all you can do. Bone day at a time. For me sometimes it's one minute at a time!

My ex wife and I lived together for 3 weeks after she dumped me and it was hell. I finally told her to leave and she moved in with her mother for a bit. I commend you for making it since May. The emptiness was horrible early on...many long painful weekends, but I was hopeful for reconciliation and that was a colossal waste of time. Hang in there! It does get better. My STBX has the kids everyother weekend. When he had them over Christmas for 10 days I was an emotional wreck. 1/15 will mark 3 months for me. Everyday is still as struggle especially when I;m cursing him trying to rush from Work to pick them up and get dinner and help with homework all the while trying to get some work done.

Everyday i get a little stronger though and i know this is for the best... regardless of the hurt and grieving in the moment.

Hang in there.. I can only promise that it does get better =O)

Hang in there, it will get easier. Missing the kids was the hardest part for me, but what I do know is all the work things are done on the weeks I don't have my daughter, and then we have a blast when I do have her.

I hear you! I am not looking forward to flying solo when he moves out or the weekends when the kids aren't here. But I absolutely cannot wait until I no longer have to see his smug arse heading out at midnight to "walk the dog" and call his crush! Stay strong, friend!

Thanks everyone. Last night was tough but I got through it. Went to dinner with a good friend, took the dog for a couple of walks, worked out a bit...all just to take my mind off the fact that the house was empty. It was hard falling asleep, but I did and I'll take that as a good sign. Now onto the weekend.

Sorry for your situation and it's going to take a while to get use to sharing the kids. I assume she cheated so hopefully healing can take place for you. Sending thoughts.
