Like that does you no good. The Past is gone
And its over. Do keep your good memories
Though. I still have all the photos and look
Thru them still, he took some photos too.
I do have the good memories of him and he
was the man i loved unconditionally. He was
My husband and friend. We had a lot of fun
Times and good vacations. We were a team
And we had each others back.
This other guy and this bad situation is what
torments me not the husband Who i thought
he was. My reality and sometimes denial can
Come and go and they play with each other.
The bad had been going on for long while its
how it ended that takes a lot of acceptance
and truly letting go.
Glad you are going to therapy too. HUGS
I have also seen other divorces that IMO shouldn’t have happened and could have been saved and rebuilt. Families suffer terribly by divorce.
There are many reasons for divorce and no one can judge another’s situation. There are sometimes terrible behaviors that lead to a divorce. There are some mean and irresponsible people who are just too selfish and don’t want to change. There are also people who are not good candidates for marriage and shouldn’t be chosen in the first place. But, that said, there are also other divorces that could have been avoided and the marriage flourish. ‘It’s complicated.’
Just don’t make an impulsive decision.
If ‘cheating’ was the reason for divorce, be questioning about why it came about. Affairs don’t happen in a vacuum. Sometimes cheating can be a final sign of problems that had been going on for some time and not attended to. And, sometimes it can be more complicated in its creation and significance.
I’m not taking away from the wrongness of the betrayal. Trust is shattered; love snuffed out. But, even after a divorce, a counselor will tell you that you need to look at the role you might have played in the dissolution of your relationship. Both people are parts of the whole picture and, at least, you need to ferret out what part you may have had. Not for sharing guilt, but for looking at cause and effect. It’s very educational and you may learn some very important things about yourself. If you don’t know your influence, you might go into a new relationship and create similar conditions that will trouble that relationship. The best possibility is that there are repairable problems that are interfering in your relationship, and now together they can be addressed, fixed, and trust and love restored over time. This takes serious commitment and persistence.
Even though there are legitimate biblical reasons for divorce, God favors reconciliation and marriage, where possible, for an important reason. Don’t throw it all away too fast.
Life is short, don't waste years as I did on someone unfaithful and unworthy of your loyalty.
A benevolent God does not require ithat you risk your health for a failed partner.
