What happened?

Our daughter caught my husband having an affair. He denies it. She is 5 yrs old. She wouldn’t make it up. I asked him about it after I noticed he wasn’t his usual safe for sometime. I thought it was usual marriage/life stress. He became very defensive and started treating me bad. Mental and verbal abuse. Picking fights to leave. Too many signs there. He tried to take my keys wouldn’t let me get to work on time. Prior to he would keep me up so I’d be late and sleep all day from working nights. Forced me to have sex with him against my will. It’s been a mess. I don’t know anyone around. No support. It takes a man to run the land and home. I am defenseless since I had him removed.

You're so strong to take this first step. Change is hard even when it's much needed. You're doing what you need to do for your family, even though it hurts.
Women can run the land and home just as well (if not better) as a man. Show your daughter how strong women are so she can grow up to expect only the best from her future partner.

Absolutely. I hoped to show my children that marriages for life until death does them apart really do exist.

you are obligated to show your children right & wrong by how you actually live your life
unfortunately your husband has shown them wrong and much worse
you are obligated to protect your children
you are taking steps to do so even though you feel weak

Trust your instincts and don’t make excuses for him and how he treats you. I did for way too long. Our dissolution was finalized today. I wasted a lot of years hoping for change that never came and things got much worse.
