Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I believe the best thing to do is family therapy. Just be there and listen and let everyone know you want the best for the kids.
Sometimes in therapy we hear things about ourselves that we don't want to hear or that we don't believe is true. Just listen and stay calm. Share from your heart about what you really want.
My older daughter and I went to therapy together for several sessions and she said I wasn't there for her in ways she needed. I was defensive and then I realized--Ahhhhh--for her I wasn't there in a way she needed. It is from her heart and her feelings. All I needed to do was say "I get it that you didn't feel I was there for you. How can we now stay connected in a way that makes you feel loved and supported?"
And that is what counseling is about. It's about sharing with kindness and listening with kindness and building bridges. Of course it helps when the therapist is a good fit for your and your family.
Good luck and keep us posted!
Sending you a hug.
This is your chance to get a window into what's going on with her.
