I was forced to break NC with my stbx, because she shorted me on some financials that we had previously agreed on. It was during this contact that I was able to see how truly see her for whom she is and what she is all about. It amazes me that I didn't notice her bad character flaws before we got married and I can only chalk that one up to .. meh it happens.. For the time being it seems that we ironed out the financials and with any luck that will be one of the last steps to not having her toxic personality in my life.

I want to thank everyone on this forum, because through your good hearts and kind words you have helped me begin to heal. We as a community all share that common bond of having our hearts broken and through that bond we are able to help each other. We share our grief, our advice and our life experiences.

After the break in NC and seeing my stbx for who she really is, I actually feel much better and realize that I dodged a bullet on that one. Perhaps, after a period of NC, we can see the other person through a clearer lens and see that they weren't right for us after all.
