I just joined this support group and really found it to be helpful. I broke up with my partner a few months ago more like two years but a year of that we were trapped in a lease together (dreadful). We moved apart and I stopped talking to him months ago. He seemed to contact me once he realized that being alone wasn't what it was all cracked up to me. We had a very bad physically and mentally abusive relationship.
His mother has recently started commenting on things on facebook. I have two facebook pages one is personal and the other is public for my side business of baking. She comments on the public page. For some odd reason that bothers me. Maybe I am over thinking it but it just bothers me that she is still in contact with me. Am I overreacting? I think I am? I think she liked me alot though. She would send me Christmas presents and she even gave me her mothers crochet hooks. I'm thinking maybe its so upsetting because of how the relationship ended but I don't know.
Do you still stay in contact with your exes family?

If I didn't have a child, then hell to the no.
If you are concerned then block her from this public Facebook page because it is your business page.
I want you to be aware that those who are so abusive physically and/or emotionally many times have a connection to that in childhood. I know my ex husband did and he was very violent once we married--we are divorced. So you may not be aware of it but his mother/father have somehow played a role in who he is now. My mother in law cut me and our son completely out of her life once I was divorcing my STBX and I realized she probably knew he was very violent when I married him. Be careful.
