I've been trying to be limited contact - only contact coordinating about my children. I don't check her site and don't stalk her, but it seems we belong to a couple of the same Facebook groups and I got a notice that she commented on a post that I had commented on.

In one of those groups, someone indicated there was a break-up and asked for suggestions for a play-list of songs to help.

I posted "Breaking Inside" and "Second Chance" from Shinedown, and "I can't make you love me" by Bonnie Raitt.

My ex later posted to that same group with "Chalk Outline" (I can relate), but also with "I don't care" by Apocalyptica. The lyrics in "I don't care" include:

"I try to make it through my life, In my way there's you..."
and
"If you were dead or still alive, I don't care, I don't care"

I realize there are nuanced meanings, etc., but she left me. Somehow the message that someone doesn't care if the other person is dead really hit me hard. I still love her and will always care about her, and this just hurts and makes me very sad that people would feel that way.

What do others do when there are hurtful words or comments? Any good strategies to not let it get to you, and to not obsess over those words?
