the courthouses have a group called "Project Safeguard" and she can start there.
but with domestic violence issues - try to get her into counseling ASAP because this a rough road to travel.
Christian groups which openly deal with DV issues unfortunately seem to be rare to find.

Now, the law is not based on religion....it is the law no matter the denomination and/or full throttle or lack of faith.
If she qualifies for legal aide, that should be good for the legal side and she can contact the local women's shelter for more resources.
I live in Dallas and long ago, I contacted the United Way and they pointed me to the right direction as I also went to my parish to get some spiritual guidance.
Ultimately, the homework has to be done by the friend as a way to gain strength and do what must be done.
I will pray for your friend but, it is time to design an exit plan.
The domestic violence is a whole other issue she needs to contact her states Aid to Victims of domestic Violence.
