I don't want to self medicate, but the voices in my head just tearing myself apart are keeping me awake and angry! I don't eat much and I can't sleep comfortably.

It's been a week and a day since he said he wanted the divorce and we are no closer than we were that day!! He won't recearch paperwork or anything.

Last night he went to "his" local bar, passed out in his car and strolled in sometime after 3:00. The last time I looked at the clock was about 2:30 trying to shut myself up in my head!!!

What do I do???? I hate this so much!!!

I've been having a hard time with sleeping also. I take a zanax at night when my anxiety is through the roof. It helps me turn down my thoughts so that I can sleep. I've heard that Ambien can make you do some crazy things. Good luck. It sounds like you might be better off without him.

Thank you for your advice!! I might just try Zanax. I'm afraid to take something for fear I'll be too out to hear my 4-y-o daughter if she wakes up. It's not too strong, is it?

I have heard about Ambien and the weird side affects as well.

I've had a friend who took Ambien to try and help him sleep. It didn't even put a dent in him. Ofcourse...he was naturally pretty wired to begin with. Zanax is not too bad. If your Dr. gives you 20mg per tablet per say....I would recommend cutting it in half and then taking it. This way you can see how it affects you. If 1/2 is good enough to help you sleep without knocking you out cold, then take just the 1/2 dosage. If 1/2 is not enough...take the full dose. Let your Dr. know what you think as well so your dosage can be adjusted if needs be.

I have this problem too. Am going to a counselor on the 5th and hope to get help than. A friend gave me a couple of xanax to try. Worked pretty well. Am taking benadril for sinus and conjestion. It really puts me out so not suffering too bad at this time. Also leaving the tv on for the first time in 25yrs. Put it on a music channel or inspirational channel. That helps me also. Snuggleing a pillow is no help at all.

See a counselor... Read - exercise, take up a hobby. Keep yourself busy - but most of all..

Accept that this is normal and in time it will become easier to sleep.

It took me 3 months, but I am finally sleeping...
