Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
We need to realize that this is THEIR deficit, not ours.
You need to heal from this. And you can. Allow yourself time to grieve. The people here know what you're feeling.
Hugs to you. I want all of us to be free from this.
My stbx is 20 months into me telling him I want a divorce, 6 months into the actual legal wrangling, and he still can't process it.
As for you, why do you think you won't ever meet anyone else? Right now, you are hurting, scared and depressed. Are you in counseling? If not, you should consider it. It has made a world of difference to me!
I think the realities of divorce are way different than what the expectations are. Some of us just don't understand until maybe it's too late. Maybe that's your stbx.
These feelings are totally natural, it's all part of the process. It's like when you break a bone, and the surrounding flesh swells up and is painful.. That's to protect the break until you heal. And believe me again, when you come out of this, (and you will,) you'll have more knowledge and experience about both yourself and relationships in general to make your next relationship an even better one.
I also get that you don't think you'll open up to anyone else. I'm there in that regard too. I never blithly tell anyone "don't worry, you'll meet someone else soon, he'll be the man of your dreams". You never know what will happen down the road. If you're not ready to meet anyone emotionally, you won't. I'm not ready so I know I won't. I might never be ready, and I'm accepting that. We don't have to have a single "one" person in our lives. It's ok either way.
