Today marks the 17th day that my husband left me for another woman after 23 yrs of marriage. I thought it would get easier, that the pain would subside little by little but I still feel so much pain. Everyday is different I guess. Some days I feel ok like I'm going to get thru this and then there are days that I wish the ground would swallow me whole. This is so difficult, its killing me slowly. For the first time in 23 yrs I spent the holidays alone, while he's out there doing God knows what with God knows who. So distraught,!

I will tell you this after 11 months, the pain still there, but believe you have to push harder everyday. You are not alone we will get through this, set little goals for the day and then the week and so on. Cry when you have to cry feel when you have to feel sad, that's your soul healing, little by little will get there I promise!!!!

I feel you. 22 years together and my wife has an affair. It's only been 9 weeks for myself and as a man I feel weird trying to deal with my emotions and trying to talk about it. Now I'm all alone she cheated but gets the house and kids and I have to move. I'm tired of crying and looking like crap all the time while she's off partying with her boyfriend like nothing happened. Struggling everyday.

Nobody deserves to get cheated on. If your spouse cheated and left believe me in time you'll be thankful they're gone. That's a character flaw that can't be cured. Better to get them out of your life, there's plenty of people out there that are not cheaters. Let cheaters stick together they deserve each other and eventually that decision will bite them in the ass.

Couldn't agree with you more kbb. My wife left me for another guy. I refused to leave my house and my kids. She moved into an apartment with her boyfriend. I have stuck by my kids and all she does is throw accusation after accusation at me. Then the boyfriend posts comments on FB about me. It's too bad that they did not think about the kids and how they would be impacted for the rest of their lives when they were out at the bars, lying and cheating. It is tough dealing with all the emotions not just for me but for our kids. It's been hell and is not over yet. I anticipate our divorce will be finalized in another month or 2. Just hoping the judge sees thru all her crap. I ask God for help every day and several times a day.

My husband just texted a picture of him on a date wih a woman all cozied up to him. Can't stop crying. I feel you! I'm just speechless. Wish I had some words of wisdom, but all I can say is somehow we manage to survive what feels like it should kill us.

All these replies let's me know I'm not alone. I feel for those who are struggling with emotional and overwhelming pain. I do try not to be negative all though I'm going thru it as well. We can make it through this no matter what

One day at a time. I wake up each morning and am thankful for another day. I, too, remember feeling like I just wanted to disappear, I just wanted to fall asleep and wake up 2 years later feeling great. Walk, read, write, take a class, do anything that is for you. Make "YOU" the focus of your life.

I totally get it. My wife of 11 years literally stepped out on me on xmas day but didn't confess to the affair until the 28th of december. I'm trying to be a strong as I can for my 2 boys age 9 & 7 I feel so abandoned and alone I truly loved her with everything I had. I was nothing but loyal the whole time. She took everything I had to give and was discarded like trash...I'm a human being!

Sometimes you can do everything right and someone else fails to reciprocate on their end. Obviously the only thing we can really control in life is our selves and sometimes we feel we cannot do it alone. We are highly social Animals by Nature after all. The Beatles say All You Need Is Love love is all you need. I'm sure everyone in this group feels the same way
