I've always struggled with self esteem. It's always been pretty low, and all I've ever wanted was a happy ever after. Unfortunately all I've attracted were guys who only wanted one thing from me, until my ex came along. My boyfriend of 4 years broke up with me a year and a half ago. He's been in and out of my life since, he knows how badly I want to work things out. All I wanted was to spend more time together. I cry all the time because I miss him so much. I haven't seen him since October and now he's ignoring me. I blame myself for everything. My friends and family are tired of hearing me. I just found pictures of him and another girl the other day and I'm a complete wreck. He always told me I'd never lose him, we'd grow old together etc. And over the last year he'd tell me he wants things back to how they use to be. Everyone is telling me to move on and deep down I don't want to. I want my best friend and boyfriend back

I feel for you! I used to pick the wrong guys all the time. I couldnt figure out why they would run away after dating solid after a while. Then I realized that it wasnt the guys I was picking, they were being themselves. They were living up to the "normal" standards of what they were capable of. It was me that was doing the picking and I was picking the wrong guys. Before I met my husband I decided that I was going to go against the things I was looking for and start looking at the more important qualities and for the guy that could withstand the challenge. When this all came to me I sat down and wrote a list of all my dreams of what I wanted my husband to be like. It was a personal list so it didnt matter how lame it was or detailed. I made that list, prayed and my husband matched all the requirements.

You can have that too. Basically I am saying that you should set those standards HIGH! Dont settle for guys that are going to use you to satisfy their needs and ditch you the second someone else comes along. Guys love the chase and the good guys will stick around and chase longer!!! Figure out what your looking for, be specific and dont settle; he will come!!!

We were honestly perfect together. If you would have asked me 2 years ago I would have told you that he won't leave because he loves me so much. His younger brother proposed to his wife and then shit hit the fan because I got upset that it wasn't happening for us. We wanted the same things and now he's with someone else after telling me for a year and a half he wanted things back to how they use to be. I've done everything I can think of and whatever he's asked of me to prove I can be a better girlfriend. I feel like I failed and it kills me that he's with someone else.
