Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Ask him why.
If you two are coparenting, then your ex is involved in your life. Period. My ex isn't my favorite person on earth, and I'm not his, but when it comes to my son,he knows I'm the Captain, you know what I mean? So, there has to be a level of "discussion" and "being around each other" because that's what happens when it's about kids and not about a former marriage.
I understand everyone is different, and honestly, I don't get or understand the magnitude of "friending" people on FB, but the more I read about it, the more I can see what a big deal it is.
I would just let it roll off my back.
HUGS!
I'm amazed that your brother invited him to the wedding after 6 years of no contact. Your siblings that declined him I believe are wise. I have heard of ex's that have no support from their own family and friends and will try to cling to the other ex-spouse's family for company and support and that may be it too. I would be guarded in what you say around him.
If he is still inviting him, I would tell your brother nicely that you won't attend because "I am family" and your ex is not and they are not going to throw both of you in together on family events in the future to come. You divorced him and didn't adopt him.
It's your family's choice what they want to do, but it's your choice to not get involved in any of it.
