I know this has happened to me, and I was wondering how many of you has this happened to.
When I was married, I became, uh, more like him. I started not to like the same people, the same songs, the same tv shows. Ex: He doesnt like Ellen DeGeneres, Bob Seger's song Old Time Rock and Roll, and most television shows that dont have to do with history, sports or the military.
I heard the Bob Seger song on the radio the other day and quickly turned the station because I dont like that song. Then it dawned on me. Why dont I like that song? There is nothing wrong with that song. So I turned it back on again and listened to it and danced my butt off!
Have any of you realized this about yourself, too? And if so, what was/is it that they didnt like that you now realize you do?
Does this make sense? How many of you have reclaimed yourself to being you again?

But I'm still trying to find out who I am. Everything in my life was about him and what he wanted and what he thought our family should be like.
It's nice to see that others have found themselves. Gives me some hope.
Been there. My stbx and I have very different views politically and I'm enjoying not having to keep quiet in this election.
Religiously I can just be, I don't have to live with the judgment of an atheist (don't have a problem with atheists, just don't like being judged for not being one)
Lots of other examples. I've rediscovered myself and you know what? I like me a lot :)
