My husband of twenty years left May 19. For the last three weeks I have been pretty much devastated. Now he wants his space and asked me not to call him let him call me. I wish I could shut my mind down. I feel sad all the time. I have joined divorce care and have my meeting tonight. I have never grieved so much. How long will this part last.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Divorce isn't easy, I have been divorced twice and there are young kids involved as well. I think the group you are going to will be very helpful, also try to find friends to help you keep your mind off things, do stuff you enjoy doing too. Try to stay out of your head for awhile. if that doesn't seem to help maybe some counseling could be good too. Good luck.

I suppose it will last as long as we allow it. I was married 20 years too when my beloved and respected spouse left. The suffering is severe, I know. I try to set & feel the pain realizing it will not kill me. Sometimes I wonder though. Trying to reach out to people is so helpful. It has been a year for me so people are finished with this nonsense. I'm reading a good book "The Journey from Abandonment To Healing". It offers very practical things to do. You will smile again, promise.

LetItBe. Thank you. I just don't understand at times. But then again I do. My husband is running from everything. His family his faith and his friends. I believe it is deep depression but I do not know. I will look up that book. Thank you.
