Awesome article. I, too, struggle with listening to everyone else other than myself and doing the exact opposite of what my gut is telling me to do. I find it to be scary to make the changes I need to make but at the same time it is scarier to think that I could be in this same spot years from now regretting that I hadn't done something sooner. Thank you for the insight and bringing the real issue to the surface, and that is that i have to take care of me because I cannot trust anyone else to do so.

I think women are especially vulnerable to not trusting our guts. We try to be polite or we don't want to "rock the boat" or hurt anyone else's feelings. When our instincts tell us that something isn't right for us, they're usually correct. People who listen to their instincts generally have good self esteem and value their worth.

This is one of my favorite quotes. Because it's true. If something doesn't feel right it, it usually isn't. I think the older we get the more in tune our gut instinct is up until a certain age. Then it can degrade from what I've seen.
