So, so far they are being really good. Most of the negative things I found were from out of state (outside MI) so hopefully it is better here and it is just my wife trying to scare me (since I am the one that asked for the divorce).
So are you having your attorneys set up documents that are designed for husbands/dads? Have you made it clear that they are NOT there to protect or promote her rights and instead are there to protect and promote your rights over her rights and she has the right to have her own attorney present?
Yes she has her own lawyer (just found out the other day) and mine has my best interest at heart and not hers. I was just thinking if we could come to an agreement on possessions, then we could have our lawyers sign off on what we agreed to for possessionsto get this out of the way and save a ton of money on lawyers/etc. This should be the easy part compared to custody for the kids.
I echo what others have said that calls and e-mails count as communication and usually you get charged for them. Be careful. If you speak with a paralegal, you can get charged to. If you speak too much with a secretary, you can wind up having her time charged to you also. So carefully think before you contact them. Good luck.
