My divorce, which is still in progress, was absolutely brought on w/ a combination of in-laws hating me and a marriage counselor that 100% took my wife's side on EVERYTHING. She did not like me because she did not appreciate my uncomfortable behavior in a couples session one evening. It all started there... from then, she was very impatient w/ me, totally disrespected me in front of my wife, as if its ok to treat me very poorly, thats the message that was being sent to my wife. She made unfounded diagnosis' , and at the same time making it very clear that I'm NOT her patient because my wife's insurance was paying the bill. Yet, she'll diagnose me tho, np...but I'm not her patient. Ok, so... God knows what was said about me. My wife saw her individually a lot, especially before and during my wife's decision to get divorced. I have a long list of unethical behaviors that I will spare you. Next is my wife's inability to communicate w/ me, as she grew up in a family where they didnt talk of feelings, and when her and her sisters had their children, no one verbalized any bad behaviors coming from the kids either. But one day, I had no choice. Her sister had a kid, same age as my boy from a previous (5 yr old) and her sister's kid always hit mine..or pushed and shoved. It went on and on, I finally said something...what I said to her sister was advised by a therapist, it was polite, it was also said w/ my wife present. Her sister twisted my words instantly (she resented I said something, no matter what I said), she also cried, made a big scene of it with her family (my in-laws) causing them to dislike me. My wife never spoke up for me or took my side in any matters. She also never addressed anything w/ her sisters, ever. She seemed to eventually resent me, just like her family. That was unreal! I couldnt believe it. So anyway, I was always the bad guy, always. There's so much more...but you can imagine, this combination is horrible. It absolutely contributed to our divorce in a major way. The divorce was my wife's idea. I can tell much more, just seeing if anyone shares my awful scenario so far. ?
Sorry you having a hard time. I cannot seal about you situation but if therequired is on thing I have learnt through all of this it the following. 99.99 percent of the time it both partner that case the marriage to fail.
It may be communication, Un resolved issues, boring lifestyle,being to comfortable taking thing for granted etc etc. The other
0.1 percent where not meant to be together from the beginning.
That just my view of course
