Is there anyone else here that has some time before the mast? In other words, anyone else who sails? I am just curious and wondering if I am the only one around here that takes to the sea when he can.

Speak up if you have cut line and sailed off. It doesn't matter if you have gone on account or not...Just hail if you sail!

I like riding on sailboats, dont know how to work them though. Cant be too hard to learn though right. Just make sure the fucker doesnt capsize.

Ummm....Soon....There is a huge lead weight under neath the boat in the keel to make sure it won't capsize. You would loose the rigging and the mast before the boat turned over.

Well, I saw a sailboat capsize, or at least go on its end Labor day, but it was only about a 15 footer.

I went on a two week sailboat trip on a 72' ketch. It was awesome but all I did was ride. And all the sails were done by remote. LOL. Went all over the San Juan Islands and the beauty was outstanding. But I liked it. Does that count? The only time I got sick was when we hit open ocean coming around the washington state corner and headed down to Astoria, OR. That's where I got off and flew home!

My hands are quick and I am strong, so pulling rope quickly isnt a problem, I am sure I could learn.

I love to sail. My life long friend got the sailboat (27') in her divorce. We live in Seattle and have great sailing. I met my ex boyfriend at a Singles sailing club. He was selling his home and going to go to Europe buy a boat and sail the world. What a huge mistake I made by falling for the guy. Sold my house moved into his and his mortgage. He didn't sail the world but charmed the hell out of me and my savings.

I've been in the middle of the Bering Sea with 30-40' seas on a crab boat. I've had a pretty exciting life, just made some really bad choices in finding the reight partner!~

Nothing can take your mind away from all the crap than a good sail!

Okay Soon. Sailing dingys don't have ballast...you are the ballast. They can capsize but they are easy to right.

That stinks that he never got to sail the world. I don't have plans that big, just to sail the carribean for a winter when I retire. I have my own boat but will probably make one more upgrade before then.

Soon...It is really easy to sail and it doesn't take long to learn. If you ever had an interest then you should try it.

72' ketch, that must of been incredible. The San Juan Islands are beautiful aren't they, especially if you're lucky enough to have good weather.

I've crewed on a few boats.

A good friend has a 26' Contessa, This boat is bomb proof. People have circumnavigated the globe.
Another has a 32' Ericson

When I travelled I crewed on a few boats including racing in the Presidents Cup in Thailand.

I could get by but I'ld never call myself a skipper.
