Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
My first wife had an affair the first year we were married. I suspected, but didn't want to believe it. Fast forward 12 years and she told me about the first affair (confirmed it in great detail). To make matters worse, she told me she became pregnant from that first affair and had an abortion. I suggested counseling as that was difficult news to swallow. The counselor suggested a two-week trial separation. I moved to a motel.
I went back to the house to get some clothes and found the locks changed, and a huge surprise - her newest boyfriend had moved in. I was served for divorce and denied access to my house until the divorce was final a year later. The story is actually much worse as to what she did, but it is too long to tell here.
And, like you, over the course of that year, "helpful" people decided to share information about her since we were divorcing anyway. IT was like getting punched in the gut over and over.
The good news is that it passed with time, and three years later I met someone new and married. My sad news is that another 12 years later, my second wife divorced me. She has established a relationship with a "best friend" from her childhood school days.
Having been here before, I know this horrible pain will eventually pass, as it will for you. Remind "friends" that you don't want to hear anything about him.
This should serve as a reminder to anyone that as soon as you have an incline that your partner is cheating on you, cut the cord right there and don't assume they are going to change. For a man, you don't want to find out that child isn't yours, and for a woman you don't want to end up with STDs.
Another reminder....never leave the house that belongs to you in a separation situation. Move into another room but don't leave the house especially when kids are involved. Sleep in the bloody garage if you have to, cos then you won't have to lose custody because of your bad action of moving out which comes across as abandoning your family.
I mean changing locks on a house that belongs to you and a spouse....and then moving in your shagger, and doing it in your bed. That is a serious slap in the face
But I've got to do it, so here I go. Wish me luck.
