I filed at the beginning of July, our anniversary would've been August 11.
It was tough, but I knew I was doing the right thing. My sister has been incredibly supportive and there for me through all of this, so she came and spent the day with me and the kiddos, and then she spent the night. I had moments where I absolutely fell apart, but she was able to watch the kids so I could take some time, and once they were asleep she comforted me.
So I suppose what I'm saying is that it's most likely going to be tough. Find your supports and utilize them. Lean on the people who are there for you.

I saw the divorce attorney as soon as we separated and she notified him by letter one month before our anniversary that she represented me in the separation and divorce, he should not contact me and all contact should be with her.

My case was physical abuse and she wanted to set him on notice that I had an attorney to try to stop the physical violence. He never physically touched me again, but began doing other things and I had to pull him into court all throughout the divorce for what he was doing and the judge handled him there.

I decided to divorce about three weeks after our 9th anniversary. The anniversary, itself, was irrelevant to me, but mostly because it had been irrelevant the entire marriage. I can't think of any year where we did anything for our anniversary, so it's just a date, like any other.

I'm new at this myself so I don't have much advice yet, but I can relate, I served her on march 5th she's not going to respond so I can file for default after April 5th and in Cali they make you wait for six months for it to be final and our anniversary is may 1st and she can't afford to move out so, well I don't know it'll be horribly sad I'm sure we'll see I guessJust hang in there that's about all you can do. :)

Yesterday was my 7th year Divorsary...well that is what the kids have coined it. I would of been married 31 years this past Feb.

I thought it was just another day, but today I feel blue.
I joined DS when I was divorcing...funny thing eh?... 7 years ago.

done a lot of growing up, a lot of learning that I am a strong woman, a survivor, supported other DS members throughout the years...how do I get thru this anniversary:

I'm lost today...going to convince myself I've accomplished a lot during this period...got to move forward and learn from the past.

new day tomorrow...move on.

Thank you all, This helps me, You all give me comfort and remind me that I am not alone. The worst is just sitting and not having anyone to relate to what you are going thru. It keeps me from texting him nonsense too!
