A while ago, a friend asked me: "Do you regret that you broke up with him?"
I affirmed: No.
Yesterday another friend asked me: "Will you look forward to coming back to him?"
I said: I can't live an unhealthy love/relationship. I can't live a life where I always have to try to please a man and lose my own pleasure/happiness, my self-esteem.
Now, today, a very close friend of mine said that I should have made more effort. I mean... What is that? So I was wrong? After all that I've learned about self-esteem, healthy relationship... Now I was wrong??? I let my ex boyfriend go, it was the 2nd break-up, he went straight away to sleep with another girl... Was it my fault? not to make enough effort???
How could it be my fault??? I lost my self-esteem, lower my wants and needs just to please him, to make him happy. How could it be???

Wow, that sounds very familiar. That is exactly what I did.I spent so much time trying ot be what heh wanted and walk on eggshells to keep him from being upset, that I lost myself. Funny thing is, he still says he doesn't understand why I left even after I spelled out in detail why I was leaving.
