This Saturday would have been our wedding day. As of today it is 6 months since we called off the engagment and our relationship all together. I've had this feeling of anxiety and I can't help but feel so sad at times. I couldn't sleep last night as I have a million things going on in my head. Is he aware what this week symbolized? Has it remotely crossed his mind how hard it is for me? I'm sure the answer to those questions are NO.
I shouldn't be thinking about him. He was all sorts of wrong for me and didn't treat me as I deserved. He was verbally abusive and I allowed it for so many years. Yet, he was also sweet and caring when he wanted. Believe me, I don't miss him and his crazy ways, but more so I miss having a companion who I would go to for everything. I'm only 26 yrs old so I am still young in a sense that I don't need to be worrying about kids and all that anytime soon. But...it still hurts me.
This time last year I was so excited for the wedding. I had everything planned out. Wedding would come and go and we would start trying to have kids....but now everything's changed. Perhaps that's why I resent him so much. He not only crushed the love I had for him...but he crushed all the plans we had made....together. I was left alone to pick up the pieces because he wasn't man enough to face me. He broke things off through a text message which alone should tell anyone what kind of a man he is.
How do I let go of the anxiety that I am facing this week? I feel as if though after the wedding date I will feel a sense of closure. Closure that he never gave me because after a 6 year relationship he ended things through a text. And the last thing I heard from him was "It's over. please do not contact me again"..... Is it crazy to think that I feel as if though there has been a death in my life? I'm basically mourning the death of someone that is still alive, if that makes any sense.
I just really need words of wisdom right now. Six months since the breakup and I can say there are less and less days that I cry. I'm happy knowing no one is putting me down anymore. It's just this week...THE WEEK. Any advice,...anyone?

I totally understand your pain. I've been there. It hurts to be thrown away, and he didn't even have the courage to tell you to your face. What a jerk. As painful as it is right now, I think one day you'll be grateful he did it.
Could it just be the loneliness making you feel so down right now? Do you have friends or family to spend time with? As far as closure goes, I'd just keep telling myself how blessed I am to have dodged a man that didn't even have the balls to face me and tell me it was over. Are you sure he wasn't a 12 year old? My heart goes out to you.
