Turns out, ever since I moved out of the house, my husband has done a 180 degree turn. He decided to stop hoarding crap and get rid of old toys, computers, machines and clothes he will never use, even the baby stuff that he was so attached to. Also, he is paying more attention to his appearance, he is drinking less, he is making friends, getting out of the house, spending more time with the kids. I even heard he will be attending a wedding out of state, which is amazing considering how much he hates weddings and travelling, reason for which we never did it. I heard there is a "new girl" who has kids of her own and hers and love spending time together, apparently they spend Thanksgiving and Xmas at their place. I am surprised on all the positive changes that have occurred in him since I left!!! Good for him! I wish him happiness!!!
Seriously. If you are thinking "he is just doing it to piss you off!"... I already tought of it. What I can't explain myself is why he didn't do it when I asked him to, when I told him it was costing him the marriage and when he asked for a last chance to make me stay. I just don't get it.

The month after he left he got diagnosed as diabetic. He stopped drinking almost entirely. Actually went to become a social drinker (He's since quit entirely.)
So yeah, I get it. My ex found a girl and started doing for her all of the things that he wouldn't do for me...
The way I decided to look at it is this. If getting divorced is what it took for him to get his life together...then GOOD. Good for him, good for our kids. Because we sure tried for 20 years, and what we were doing wasn't working.
So yeah, we could have stayed together...and things could have gotten much much worse.
It's better this way. Sometimes you have to love someone enough to let them go...
I agree with Patti. And the most important thing really is that you are doing in your life what you want to do and you're being who you want to be.
If he is doing better all the power to him. Our world would be a much more peaceful place if people were more content and happy.
