So, from my last post, I texted my wife I was going to file for divorce, telling her reality hit me knowing that she will never come back home. She responded the following morning, "you'll see...when I come home." I asked her, "What's stopping you" and her response to me this morning was "I'm afraid of his reaction" That response itself sent alarm bells through my head, thinking about her safety. When I called her, she shut her cell phone for a half hour. She finally answered and I asked her to explain. She told me the day before last, the guy she is with, beat the living crap out of his brother for calling him the "N" word. She said this happened in front of her at his friend's house and no police were involved. She said the brother had to go to the hospital. So far, she said he has not been violent towards her and she is not concerned for her safety. I asked if she can get as far as away from him as possible, leaving all her stuff there because her belongings can be replaced. I told her she doesn't have to come back home but just get as far away as possible. She said she might. She had to get off the phone because the other guy was getting home from work and said she will talk to me tomorrow.

Something just didn't seem right to me. Because twice she had told him she wanted to go home and so far he hasn't been violent or intimidating towards her. If she really wanted to leave, she would have just left since she said she is not afraid of her safety. She does have opportunities to do that. I'm not concerned if she will come home or not, it's if this is the first time she has seen him become violent, does she really see this as a true warning sign for her to get the hell out of there as fast as possible? I get the feeling she is telling me this so I will hold off the divorce, but she will not leave him. So far she has not asked me to come get her, but I offered to get her a rental vehicle for her to use go to her dad's place.
