So tomorrow is the 1 year mark of me leaving my STBX. It's bitter sweet, I don't regret leaving and getting out of my situation. I do feel horrible how he had decided to deal with his children. There has been no contact since November, my kids have moments of great sadness. My DS (9y/o) has been very vocal recently, he was heartbroken that his dad didn't call him for his birthday. There is nothing I can do about his lack of responsibility. I sent him a message telling him that if he didn't want to speak to me that's fine. I asked if he could leave the kids a voicemail telling them the he loved and missed them, you guess it, no response.

I'm still just scrapping by, I finally got a job. It doesn't pay much, but it covers some of the bills. The child support enforcement seems to finally have a work order to go after him. Good luck with that ever happening.

I know when I move in with my family to another state, I will be able to care for my family. My kids will have people to LOVE and care for them. I will be able to get a better job and find the rest I deserve.

Onmyway, I'm glad to hear that you're doing so much better, and looking forward to a brighter future. So sorry to hear that he has abandoned the children, there are really no words to describe how despicable an action that is. I hope you find continued strength to raise your children the best possible way you can. I hope you have some strong male role models in your family too. Boys do benefit from that, but even if they don't have that, a good strong mom can lead them beautifully into adulthood.

I'm so sorry that you and your children were abandoned. I raised my boys alone after I had to divorce their dad for abuse. You can do it. God bless you!!!

Sorry to hear that your ex is being this way toward the children. This is so horrible. My sympathies are certainly with you on that as no mother wants to see their child hurt. It may be for the better though. The children will learn what their father really is like in the end and it will be because of his doing, not yours. You be that strong mother that they need right now by their side. Do the best you can and your family. It hurts the children, that I understand, but be honest with the children. If you attempted to have their dad contact them and he didn't then I believe they have a right to know that. It is a shame that some people don't share the love they should for their own children. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the children. You will get back on your feet and you will be that strong mother that you were meant to be. No one can take that from you!

I can't imagine. I have 2 Dad's and it kills me to only see them in the morning. I get a call every night at bedtime. I want them to have both of us in their lives. My wife and I'd issues should never affect the girls.

Your ex sounds like a total jack ass. It's probably a good thing you got away from him. You kids will be ok in the long run, I was. And I went through something similar as a kid.

I'm sorry, and hope it gets better soon.
