So the week before Christmas my work team was nuked. Another consulting company won the bid for a managed maintenance contract supporting two of the systems my team supported. I was one of the lucky survivors, moved to another team my company has on a different managed maintenance contract with the same client.
Big difference is the team I was on was for a staff augmentation contract, and it was based in a different city that my work location. This led to very flexible work arrangements for me because I wasn't at the same site as my team and it wasn't a contract with SLAs for on-site presence. I worked from home a lot, usually 4 days a week. When I regressed late last year, I stopped going to the office even that 1 day a week. I probably should have started going in more often.
So now I have to go in 3 days a week. That's probably a very good thing. Get out of the house for that time and actually interact on a face-to-face basis with my new team.

I also stopped visiting this forum. That was a big mistake. I can see now just how supportive and therapeutic this forum can be.
I'm truly sorry we all ended up here, but at the same time I am very, very thankful for this place and the support I receive here.

I like seeing someone as compassionate, and thoughtful as you are, saying things that make me think in a gentle way.
That probably doesnt mean very much, it shouldn't be the reason anyone stays on a forum, but I guess I want you to know the impact you have.
