Has anyone else thought that the Media is Irresponsible? I was watching the news today and they are showing the school where Obama's kids will go to school. I know that they are protected by the secrete service but what is the point of showing the school and video tapes of the school on the T.V. Now a potential terrorist that wants to hit a big target they have seen the layout of the school and they know where the kids go to school at. That is just friggin great.
Then the media goes out there and puts weaknesses of the airline security over the air. Everyone knows it will take weeks for the airlines to implement change but they have now exposed weaknesses and made the public in danger.
I can't understand why they would go to a scene where there is a guy held up in the building and show, over the air, the positions of all the police officers in the area and try to show when the officers are getting ready to raid the building. So the guy can sit in the location with a T.V. and know what is going on outside.
I think that the media should use more judgement when they are making stories. Some things shouldn't covered or shown.
Anyone else agree or disagree with me?

but the problem is that the media outlets, particularilly news outlets, have to show the flashy bits...
on the upside... in the case of hostage stuff, one of the first tasks that the SWAT team does is limit access to communications in and out. they also will often kill the power on the person.
If reporters can find out where Obama's kids are going to school, do you think a bunch of terrorists couldn't?
If reporters can pin point the weaknesses in airport security measures, do you think a bunch of terrorists couldn't?
Personally, I'd prefer that weaknesses in airport security be exposed by Fox News at 10 than al Qaeda.
Too many things are kept from us as it is.....
