A difficult Mother's Day?

This is the FOURTH Mother's Day since he left me. When do I get to enjoy a holiday?? I know it's my fault because we have been on again/off again during the 4 years (we have lived separately since the divorce). Well we are off per his choice, of course. I need to be strong and get off the roller coaster. I wish I could just find something to hate about him. I think that would make moving on easier...

I think the fact that he is "off" per his choice, would give me enough reason to not be all warm and fuzzy about him. Hate? Strong word. Maybe when you decide you are worth more than being someone's on/off...you'll find the strength you need to end it for good. You don't have to hate him, you just need to realize that you are worth more than what he's offering up to you.

Mother's day is about me and my kid. He doesn't even factor into that scenario.

I know it extremely hard to enjoy those days but it is so important that you do this. ..not only for your child but yourself. I made huge mistakes regarding this and my advice is to pay attention to the unconditional love your child has for you.

enjoy it! treat yourself to a massage, some sushi, whatever it is that YOU like. and make it just for you. being a mom is one of the toughest things we'll ever do at times, but it is the most rewarding and you deserve to be treated nicely and rewarded. by your self. we spend so much time doing for others.do for yourself!

this will be my first solo mothers day. but the thing i'm realizing is that i am a mom regardless of what stbx does or doesn't do as a dad, partner, etc. i don't want/need someone who doesnt honor and respect how hard i work raising my son, and i'm not gonna be sad that my stbx is too selfish to recognize all i do. some people are just selfish, and we can let them ruin things for us, or we can refuse to let them take our joy. you DO deserve better than being someone's off/on switch. maybe it's his choice now, but you can make it your choice to not let him choose ever again. choose yourself girl! big big hugs to you!
