Wishing me a happy fathers day and I am an amazing father (which I already know). She left us going on 4 months ago. Before I started No Contact I would've immediately responded and probably would have tried to engage in some more happy inducing conversation. Today I read it and deleted. No response. Not even the one word response I was planning if she did contact me. LIke I have said before, our daughter who lives with me is 17 and son is 26. We had an amazing time last night at the Mariners game, and today my daughter and I are going to the local art festival. Why do I need to fill her in? Im getting close to DONE. Happy Fathers day to all who may be struggling a bit, Im not saying this isnt hard but its the only way to get healed and move on! Thanks all!

Vawmcole we can be each other's inspiration. I feel she left me and daughter hi and dry, why give her the satisfaction of a response? Let her twist in the wind, and even if she isn't it makes me feel better thinking she can lie in the bed she made. Have a great day I know Father's Day can be hard on everyone involved but I'm getting out of this house with my daughter and seize this day! God Bless

Good for you Kbbcoop. I am doing NC but I don't think my ex will reach out to me so I will not have a text to ignore. lol But I am on day 2.

That is great that you and your kids had a great time at the game. You are still living your life and the best revenge is to live well. So keep living life.

Thanks Butterfly, 10 days into No Contact I can honestly say this is the way to go. The old saying out of sight out of mind really applies. Its still hard sometimes, but not nearly like it was when I would respond, talk a bit, then get ignored all over again. That cycle had to end. Good luck to you its better to just stay busy and keep focusing on you and be grateful for those who want to be with you, not those who split. Forget them. They are yesterday news.

Thanks Kbbcoop, I am on day 3 of NC today ( gotta celebrate the baby steps lol) I am looking forward to being at the 10 day mark and 20 day mark.

That is what I hear if you can hang in there with the NC you will start to feel better. I did 12 days and fell backwards. Hence I had to start over :( But I am pushing fwd.

Thnx KBBCoop, boy do I know that cycle. It is so unfair to draw you in and then shut you out, and you are right: the only way to make it stop is to quit playing the game. Remind me, I'll be lucky if I get through Day 2. Then I have to avoid passively-agressively saying things that I know will get back to him. Though the remarks are richly deserved, I doubt if they make much of an impact, other than letting him know he is still getting under my skin. If he cared what I thought or felt, he wouldn't have treated me so shabbily in the first place.
