I went to see an attorney and hired him. He got the draft of the complaint done within a day or two and now I am scared to have him file it. Why? I know that this is what I want and what will be best for myself and my boys but I just can't seem to get the courage up to tell my husband that I have filed. For one thing, we never talk. He is always watching tv or on the computer or if I do get a chance to talk to him, all he can talk about are his truck and his mustang. We do not connect and yet he still thinks that I should be intimate with him. I do not know how to tell him that I want a divorce.

Hey you ve done one of the hardest things to do in this process. So in your own time tell your husband and file it.
You need to do this when you feel strong enough for all the shit that will follow

Thank you. I keep getting asked by the people around me who know that I went to the attorney if I have told him yet and I feel like they are waiting around and wondering why I have not yet.

If you are certain this is what you want then you MUST sit down and talk to him. Don't have him served with no idea. That's not fair. Regardless of what he is doing while you are attempting to talk, at least you will be extending the courtesy of telling him where you stand.

It sounds like he has zero idea this is coming. Did you discuss your intentions or concerns with him yet? Is there still a chance to fix the marriage? Consider talking to a mediator or doing marriage counselor first. Divorce is a huge, life-changing move. Make sure you are 100% before you take that step.

Sit him down and talk. It seems like he has no idea that there is a problem with your marriage and you are hurting. Trying to find other avenues before you file is the suggestion I will give you. Talk, talk, talk and then talk again. See a concellor and see what you can get out of that.

Do not worry about what all youor friends and family are thinking.they are hoping you will be happy and you are doing what is best for you.
I go from telling my supportive circle that i dont ever want him back to wailing down the phone early hrs of the morning saying i want him back!!! and they never judge... because the only decision to make is mine!!!!
so your decision has to be yours!

We have done marriage counceling for 9 years, I have done individual counceling, I have read ALOT of marriage books, we have done "A weekend to remember" weekend seminar, we have talked, I have written letters to him so that I know that he has understood exactly where I am coming from, and recently we went to see a Christian Mediator. I am literally at the end of my rope. He was supposed to meet with our councelor on Sunday and he blew off the appointment. What else can I do? I feel like I am subjecting my children to put downs and degrading from their father everyday and I can't seem to get through to him that he is ruining his relationship with his children. I am beginning to hate him for what he is doing to them and to me. I don't want to hate him and I don't know what else I can do except give up on my happiness and just deal with it until I die.
