I went to see an attorney and he is working on the draft of the complaint but I still have not told dh. I am scared to tell him because I am afraid of his reaction. One of my friends thinks that he is either going to beat the crap out of me or kill me. How to tell him????

DH? Designated Hitter? Not familiar with that outside of baseball terms. But, on a more serious note if you are afraid of getting hurt when you tell this person call the police and tell them the situation and ask them to be present when you do this.
I had to do a civil standby once...and it was horrible and scary (I requested it). I felt like I had done something wrong and it ripped my heart out, but it was probably the right decision.
So, my advice is to get a civil standby from the police and file a restraining order.
And keep reaching out and take care of yourself.

I agree with the respondent above me...call the police but definitely file an emergency restraining order and get ready to head to a domestic violence shelter and work out a longer term living situation. That may all be for nothing, but you would rather be safe than find yourself harmed or dead.
