Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
After my first marriage broke up, in a few years I started to date and finally met a nice guy and we dated a few years. After we broke up and we broke up on a friendly basis, his friend contacted me (my number was listed in the phone book) and wanted to talk to me about the breakup and to do it over dinner. He explained it was just to talk about the breakup and this was a good guy so I trusted him.
After dinner, he walked me to the car and when I told him good night and was getting my keys out, he pounced and I fought him off, gave him my knee and slapped his face hard and left. He wasn't a good guy and he was a pig. He figured I was vulnerable and this was a good time to take advantage. When I saw the ex boyfriend when I out, I told him about his friend and what happened and he was not happy because he didn't want his friends doing that stuff to anybody, let alone me.
So I want you to consider saying no to any future friends of the ex that call to go out. Five months isn't a long time after a breakup and you are still vulnerable. You don't want to put yourself out there to his friends no matter what story they may give you because they may try to take advantage of you. Take care and many, many hugs.
be good and true to you...
