I was here 6 years ago. My wife and I separated and I was devastated. This was one of the places that helped me go through it.

She took me back 6 years ago. Now she wants a divorce. We have been married for 18 years with 3 kids.

I thought we were doing great, I was wrong. She has felt this way for almost a year. She didn't tell me until last week that she wants a divorce. I am so shocked. I am still trying to process it.

I don't know how I will get through this.

She said we grew apart, two different people. Marriage shouldn't be a battle. Guess what she is the one that makes everything a battle. If it's not her idea it's not a good idea.

I feel for you Somer. I've been with my stbx 10 years, married 4. We've had ups and downs, but I thought we were ok. Apparently he's harbored "it's over" feelings for awhile because he let me know Sunday it's over. He's resolved, no attempt at counseling, nothing. I was pretty tore up and hopeless, thoughts of blowing my brains out, etc. Then, I woke up and I was done. done hoping he would change his mind and want to work it out. It's still not easy. A back injury 3 years ago keeps me from working. So off to NY I go to stay with a friend and get help, my son is off to Austin with a friend and get on his feet there. Lots of things there like my son being epileptic and just had a seizure Friday that sent him to the ER. This has been a bombshell for everyone. It's hard when they let you think things are ok or workable, or you stick through it no matter what. I brought up divorce not long ago and he begged me not to. We can work through anything. This was maybe 6 months ago. So I find it odd. But I promise you will get through this. Part of the reason I'm done, is just what you are going through. Even if he did change his mind now, how could I ever trust him again not to change his mind again? It would always be there, the fear and hurt in the back of my mind. I can't get past that. I know you are hurting right now, but this is time #2 she has done this. Do you really want to be with someone that will yo-yo your feelings and love like that? Do you really want to pour your heart and soul into someone that will treat them that way?

We don't want to tell the kids until the end of school year. So no plans. I am doing therapy to help me deal with this.

Yes, it's the same as last time. I can't do anything right. Everything I do annoys her.

That sucks, especially considering your 3 kids. Is there a chance that counseling would help or she would be open to it?

When someone lays the "you can't do anything right" crap on another...it doesn't usually bode well and their mindset is one of blame, blame, blame vs. solutions.
