She works in a stressful environment, lives near my parents and that can be very stressful, etc. Anyhow, she sleeps constantly, due to her iron issues exhausting her, but she sleeps

You need to try and make yourself a priority. The weight, emotionally draining impact of major life changes will take a toll on you physically, not to mention mentally.
Please take care of yourself. I know it's hard, but you can't be your best you if you don't.
Hugs!
Have you tried Ice on it instead of heat? If it is nerve.. it might be swollen and heat will make it worse.. I know since I have that type of pain sometime and ice helps.. some tylenol pm and sleep..

I hope you feel better soon ... Hugs to you...
