Hi my friends, just to update you all. I went to womens aid today and they are going to give me counciling one day a week. They are also signing me up for some programs with groups of people like me. The groups help people in these situations to recognize and be able to deal with problems of abuse. They have also reported, with my help all what has happened to the police. And they are contacting their solicitor to start divorce proceedings. They have told me on no account do i need to talk to my husband. They said i owe him nothing and that ive had a narrow escape. They said not to answer the phone or the door to him, and to call the police if i get anymore problems with him. All moving fast now , bit scary but with their help and yours i should hopefully get through this. Thankyou to you all

Good for you for following through. They are right about not talking to your husband, as many of us have told you not to do as well. Hopefully he'll begin to calm down now and all will go more smoothly for you.

Thankyou to you all. lets hope he will give me some peace now. He wont be happy when he knows ive filed for divorce. But he brought it on himself. Hopefully the worm has turned and il be on the up

Yeah he will probably go nuts.
Hope for the best but expect the worst.
You need to be ready for the explosion. It will get worse before it gets better. But it WILL get better. Let the storm come and stay as strong as you are now. You made a great decision now you need to remain firm in this decision. He will probably play the angry card, the hurt card, the victim card, and anything else he can think of. Be ready for it all and keep strong.

Keep your phone handy with the cops on speed dial. Be aware of your surroundings when out. Don't get caught off guard, and by all means, DON'T TALK TO HIM OR LET HIM IN YOUR HOME! Call the cops if he comes around. You can do this!

Talk to everyone about any protective orders you can get at this time against him to keep him away from you, your home and your work.

It's going to get scarier. Sounds like you have a support system there, and here too. Use them all, ALL the time!!
