feeling better

when stbx left, I was shell shocked. It is now 5 months later, and it is hard to believe that I am better.

I do not go into supermarkets, I go to CVS, they have a lot of foodstuffs.
In CVS, I talk to alot of people.

I go home and rest a little, watch tv..

I gave away my 2 cats to my ex. So, I give the dog lots of love and attention. She has a heart problem.

I take myself to Barnes and Nobles, and eat lunch and read.

I go to chuch on Sundays.

It is a slow process, during this process, I serously thought that I would like to kill myself. Even though I am better, I know now I cannot do that, but I ask God to take me already. I am a senior, and do not want to start over again. But I stay alive for my dog, who I love more than the world.

It does get better, but it is a slow process.

Hang in there peppe, I am glad that you feel better then you did 5 months ago. It is a process that we are all going thru here on this site.

Just keep reaching out to this site for support. You are not alone in your journey. And Church is a great place to be, reach out to your pastor and talk to him also. I am sure it will help.

Also peppe, go to www.meetup.com and type in seniors. they are a lot of groups that have activities for and with other seniors in your area. I hope this was helpful to you :)

Peppe, it is a slow process, but we do become stronger in the end. I am 3 1/2 months into my STBX abandoning me and our 2 sons. There were days where I could not physically get out of the bed, but I forced myself to. I took myself to the movies a couple of weeks ago and it was pleasant. Since I took a semester off of graduate school to deal with the divorce, I watch more TV, journal, read magazines and most importantly spend more time with my sons and our pets. I do not want to start over again, either, because of my age, but I know there is happiness out there for me. Yes, I miss the man that was by my side for the last 16 years, but I have many years left in me to love again. Stay strong and keep a positive outlook. We will get there.

Start over again? I am not sure what you mean. You are a senior, so you are on your journey with still a lot to do and a lot to offer. Why would a person no longer being around make you feel like "God please take me already" - he defined you? - he was the center of your world and your only purpose? You don't count? WE LOVE YOU!!! So stop talking that way (I know, we are just cyber people) - but think about all you can still do. I love how you said you go to B&N, you attend church - how awesome. Please don't give up on YOU! - There is no having to start over - there is only staying on our path and looking forward to tomorrow.
