Thanksgiving is difficult. It was during the Thanksgiving holidays 3 years ago that my life fell totally apart. I noticed he seemed to be preoccupied and was acting a bit odd. I asked him if something was wrong and it all hit the fan.
The feeling of the foundation under your feet totally breaking apart. The loud ringing in your ears where you cant hear what he's saying. The drop of your heart into a never ending free fall. The pain. The actual physical pain.
It seems like more than 3 years. Last year at this time he was moving #4, whom he met online before he even let me know he was unhappy, from across country to our small town. They married a week later, so they will be celebrating their first anniversary in a week or so.
It hurts. Of course it still hurts. But, I dont want to jump off a of a bridge anymore. Well, usually I dont. It's been hard. I left the house cause I hated it. I left the dogs at the house because they needed a place with a fenced yard and an apt would not be good for them.
Six months ago, I left my job. I've left that small town. I couldnt bear to be there anymore running in to him and #4. I've started over somewhere else. But it hurts. Oh how it hurts. I still cry myself to sleep more often than not. Sigh.

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

Boy, I remember that. I felt like one minute I was sitting on the couch, in my home, with my life partner...and the next a bomb had hit the house and I was crawling out of the wreckage, the rubble of my life. I remember people commenting several times over the next month or more about how well I was doing and I kept saying please don't be fooled - I'm in shock. None of this is real to me.
And it is amazing how much it physically hurts, isn't it?
It's been just over three years for me too. I'm so sorry that you've had to go through this and that it is still hurting so much. It's gotten a bit better for me but there are still nights when I cry myself to sleep too.
A great big hug to you, Jaclyn. I'm sending comforting thoughts your way.
People get tired of me talking about all of this. They have moved on and dont see why I haven't/couldnt. And that's understandable. It's normal for them to feel that way. So now when someone asks how I'm doing, I just say "okay. I'm doing okay", cause that is what they want to hear. But I'm not doing ok. Not at all.
Yesterday I watched a Jeff Dunham Christmas special and I was practically rolling on the floor it was so funny. At one point I vaguely remember stopping and thinking..it feels good to laugh like this. Of course then I had a meltdown several hours later. I'm not fighting it, though. I just let the meltdowns happen, hoping eventually they will stop completely.
I'm functioning. The new job helps. Once I get all my things down here and get settled in my apt I am hoping to get myself back on a structured routing. One that includes cleaning my apt and cooking...which I have not done for 3 years.
