Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
The worse thing we do to ourselves is to allow our minds to write a story and start believing those perceptions and assumptions when we don't know what is really going on in reality. If that makes sense. I have done it many a time since my ex left. Many times I found out in the end that what I thought, was clearly not what was going on. One can lose a lot of sleep and mostly their sanity if they continue to write stories.
So what does one do when they aren't in that person's life anymore, don't know what they are really doing or thinking, etc.? We have to work hard at just looking at the facts and not conjuring up the thoughts and feelings or another person since we really do not know. Work on how we are feeling about a situation and only deal with that and not add on unnecessary weight to our shoulders or hurt to our hearts when we just don't really know. Easier said then done, I know I still struggle with making assumptions when I don't know the facts, but its easier on the heart when I can stay in the now and just not try to write a story of fiction versus reading what are facts.
stay strong and stay in the now.
