You don't need a man to define you. You just think you do.
Work on you - be gentle with yourself, rest, meditate, BREATHE.
It's hard, I know. But it does get better. You can always come here - there's always someone here to lend an ear and some comfort and advise.
Now this new guy I've been seeing, although I want to be with him, I am not needy of him. This attracts him to me. The woman who can stand on her own two feet is very appealling to a man. I've been doing a lot of reading from self help books on how to be a better me.
I used to believe that my happiness depended on being with someone and having someone. This would give me severe panic attacks bc I didn't know how to function being alone. Through the help of books, friends and support groups I have found a new self confidence in myself. I want a man but I do not *need* a man.
It has been a long journey for me to get to where I am now. I understand the loneliness. Its hard. This new guy I'm seeing, because our schedules are night and day, I rarely see him, most of our contact is via talking or texting. But that's okay bc this way there is no pressure on either of us and we are able to build a good friendship while building a strong foundation when we do start working towards something serious.
Keep focused on you and repeat to yourself over and over again that things are okay. Keep saying it until you believe it. It does work.
P.s. I apologize for any spelling or grammar errors, I did this from my phone.
It's funny because I was never needy before him. I was strong, and confident, and independent. Now I am scared of everything. It takes time though. Everyone is right though, you need to learn to love yourself before someone else can truly love you. My ex and I both had low self-esteem and insecurities that became horrible for both of us.
I know it will get better for you and for me, but in the mean time, know that you're not alone, we are all here with you.
Hugs to you
